The rights-based approach of prioritizing housing the furthest behind first has become popular yet the effectiveness of such approach in creating inclusive cities need to be interrogated. Because, as well intentioned as the approach may be, it may create challenges that weaken the housing delivery process and eventually turn cities across Africa into worse off conditions.

We conduct research across the four regions of Africa with thematic focus on sustainable cities, prosperous cities and inclusive cities. This include our own independent research and commissioned research by our clients.
We provide training on various topics focusing on urban development in Africa to towns and city officials, private sector and civil society organisations.
Our Town Planning team provides town planning services to urban development clients currently focusing on South Africa. This include land use management and technical advisory on the built environment.
